Three surprising things about Marske

Three archbishops have come from Marske. Two from the Hutton family of Marske Hall, and one from the Errington family of Clints Hall.

The steep sided valleys of Marske Beck, Clapgate Back and Deepdale have been created by the rush of melt waters from glaciers at the end of the last ice age.

The Wainwright Coast-to-Coast walk comes through Marske village. The record for the fastest time from end to end is 39 hours and 18 minutes. Damian Hall didn’t stop for lunch in Marske as most others do!
